If you are interested in working in development, a number of options are available.
The International Health Exchange (IHE) acts as a 'clearing house' for vacancies in developing countries rather than recruiting directly. The IHE keeps a Register of health (and management) professionals to which any qualified health worker may join at an annual subscription (currently £25). Once on the Register you will receive a magazine (The Health Exchange) every two months, plus a bi monthly jobs bulletin which advertises up to date lists of health care posts available in developing countries.
The Health Exchange also publishes lists of training courses for health professionals intending to work abroad and offers it's own training programmes designed for those wishing to work in developing countries.

Christians Abroad provides a low-cost programme for the recruitment of personnel with Christian commitment for overseas appointments in education, health, administration and agriculture.
"World Service Enquiry" has an advisory and counselling service available to people of any faith or none, which offers information and advice on opportunities to work overseas through a wide variety of organisations and in many skill areas. Information is also available about shorter term opportunities for those with no specific skills or experience.
Individual organisations will give details of their own list of vacancies and application procedure. Many agencies keep a register of nurses to whom they send out a list of vacancies as they occur, so it is a matter of writing to a particular organisation if you feel you would like to work for them. Many of these are given in our Directory of Organisations. Vacancies are also advertised in local and national newspapers and professional journals, as well as in The Health Exchange.
